The Vasileios G. Anastasopoulos S.A. Company trading as EL CAFE was established in August 2000.
The company story however commenced many years earlier. Its founder Vasileios Anastasopoulos’ initial professional involvement commenced in 1977 as a manager with a company that imported and traded in raw-green coffee and his personal journey since then has been inextricably linked with the modern history of coffee in Greece.
In 1985, Vasileios Anastasopoulos commenced his association with PROMET (an EOMMEX subsidiary) as the Financial and Commercial Director, where he undertook the exclusive green coffee import and trading throughout Greece.
The PESKAFE Cooperative undertook the importing of green coffee in 1986 and Vasileios Anastasopoulos was appointed as the Financial Director by the PESKAFE Administrations from its outset until it was wound-up (approximately 10 years).
He continued his professional career as the General Manager of a coffee import company that was established after PESKAFE was wound-up until 2000, when he established the company under his own name trading as EL CAFE, to which he contributed all the knowledge, experience and passion that he had acquired through his long-term and extremely successful career in the importing and trading of green coffee import and trading in Greece.
ΕL CAFE soon ventured into expanding the imported varieties of coffee through the rich varieties that it held in its warehouses, which has substantially contributed to the production of espresso coffee by Greek roasters producing coffee, by gaining the trust of its customers that has elevated it to the position of the leading green coffee importing and trading company in Greece.
In 2005 Tasos Anastasopoulos followed in his father’s footsteps when he joined the company and his specialisation in espresso coffee has provided the company with a substantial boost.
Under his supervision and guidance, the special associates of ΕL CAFE are solely concerned in the coffee producing countries with discovering new coffee varieties on special farms.
EL CAFE currently supplies most of the largest espresso coffee producing companies in Greece, by remaining as a dedicated green coffee import and trading company.
